Big To Do

Big "To Do" list that is. I haven't been around here as much lately because of it. That list doesn't seem to be getting any shorter. And just when I need more hours in the day, we get one taken away this weekend.

Luckily, my work has been picking up and when I'm not working, I'm searching the gazillion, billion internet job sites out there helping the hubby look for work. He's been finding some jobs to apply for but no calls yet for interviews. He has received a few rejection notices and not surprisingly, they all say "we have had an unusually large response". Something will come through.

We have decided to try to sell our home in this horrible market. It's a fixer upper but has some pretty special good points too. This adds yet another chapter to the "To Do" list...fixing some things we've been letting slide. We also need to do some major downsizing. It's amazing the amount of "stuff" that has "appeared" over the years. If it sells, it frees us up to go anywhere for work. Hopefully, it will lead us to the town we want to move to. We'll see what fate has in store for us.

In the meantime, I'll keep plugging away at the list.

A big transition for you...It's confusing to me when I have many things to do to know which are things that need tending to and which are the distractions from what needs tending to more. Anyway, just thinking of you. I understand the Midwest Real Estate Market is in better shape than on the coasts.

You sound like you have pretty good equilibrium, all in all. Maybe that's what a to-do list does; keeps us focused on the practical.

I feel somehow wrong, wishing that your house sells out from under you. But I guess that would be a good thing! What is the town you wnat to move to? Do you have a specific place in mind?

ArtSparker - So true. Sometimes just picking a project takes too much time. We've seen some movement around here with home buyers. We'll keep our fingers crossed.

Jocelyn - Don't feel bad, we are ready for a move - mentally anyways. Town we want to move to is Belview in southwestern MN. Population 402. SALUTE! We've fallen in love with the town and it's residents and in the words of an old Bard, "I like this place and willingly could waste my time in it."

I'm sorry you are having to move, but maybe its meant to be? This way you get to go to a town you really want to live in. I hope your house sells quickly and your husband finds a job. S

So much to do--my goodness. Good luck with all of it, and I hope it works out that you can stay put.

It is amazing how much stuff we collect. I've been going through photos to give to the kids, clothes, upon clothes I can no longer wear, junk that I just had to keep (love notes from Dave during high school:) and tossing or giving them away. I still have a long way to go, but at least its a start.

Good luck to you and the hubby. I"m holding good thoughts :)
